My find on Sunday

  • Nov. 16th, 2009 at 11:52 PM

A durian flavored Hi Chew from Japan in Yamakawa Super at Tampines 1. Hehe. Everyone gave me that suspicious look when I offered it, but even those who do not like durian could eat this. It is as sweet and chewy as the usual hi chews, but as you chew, that familiar durian taste emerges and become stronger. Since it is just flavoring, the candy doesn't smell like durian. In fact, I see peach listed in the ingredient list. It reminds me a little of the durian tube/cake we can find here, just less flavorful/pungent. If you have not tried durian before, this is a candy you can start with before trying the stronger and more pungent durian products. ^_*

Work humor is important

I love my friends!!! Whenever I am down or depressed, they will always try to cheer me up or say the funniest things. Well, but not everyone gets it. Today was another draining day at work. Every time I enters my boss's room, I will leave it feeling emotional drained, depressed and utterly demoralized. I seriously believe he is a psychic vampire because I am not the only one who feels that way, but I am sensitive in that sense. Trying to get my shield up before meeting him, but it isn't working well. Anyway, Chuying said something that reminds me of Jacqueline's interesting/geeky quote on work.

Jacqueline: Working is just like a never ending rpg game. You just kill the boss monsters over and over again to gain levels with no aim or end to the game.

Chuying said something similar: Working with boss is similar to playing a computer game. Your energy level aka life goes up and down and you will need to replenish it.

It is true, isn't it? This is especially so when you are doing routine work everyday in a job you are not passionate about. There isn't a sense of satisfaction too, when you only get criticized and compared with other colleagues, but never praised. Our boss only meets us when there is a problem. Other than that, he doesn't look for us. Talking to him is similar to battling boss monsters. Your energy bar just drained rapidly and you will need lots of potions to replenish it.

Thankfully, it is the weekend. It is time to stock up on my mana potions and boost my energy shield XD

A new design and some crafts

  • Oct. 12th, 2009 at 11:38 PM

Have been busy recently. Besides the recent buzz at work, I have been molesting my jewelry tools again. ;) I really do need to  practice more. My wire looping skill is horrendous. No wonder I tend to do papercraft instead of working with wire. Haha.

I do like these latest work, though I think I overdid the necklace part. A simple chain or ribbon could work just as well. Anyway, these will be going to the post office tomorrow and I hope their intended owner will like them.

I can't access the site since last night. Anyone facing the same problem too?

Just came back from the tea ceremony. I have my cousin's wedding dinner to attend tonight. Will be back with pictures. :D

And the F1 frenzy has begun

  • Sep. 26th, 2009 at 3:53 PM

The formula 1 race is here again this weekend! Diana, Mum and me went to the practice sessions last night, since Melvin's boss gave him some passes and he couldn't make it. To tell you the truth, I don't get the F1 fever. Looking at cars zooming past every few secs isn't  exactly very exciting and the city area was packed. I was more amazed at the places barricaded with the race zone, such as the esplanade and some hotels. Travelling to and fro the venue was a torture too, with vague instructions and barricaded roads. In the end, we left before the practice ended feeling dirty, sticky, dusty and with ringing ears. I couldn't figure out where to get or buy the earplugs and now I am more worried of ear damages. Haha. I doubt I will go again. It is a boring experience.

Argh, my paypal account is limited until I send them a photocopy or scan of my Identity card and my address. I keep trying to fax over, but it is not working. I can't use the scanner too. And the item I want is on sale. :( The timing couldn't be worse
